Arizona continues to strengthen its relationships with top trading partners Mexico and Canada as well beat back the economic affects of the COVID-19 crisis with strong growth in the manufacturing, construction, technology/semiconductor and aerospace sectors, Governor Doug Ducey said during his 16th Annual International State of the State hosted by the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations.

The International State of the State event is the annual platform through which Arizona and the foreign affairs community look outward into the world and discuss challenges, the benefits of the gathering, and other issues.

Gov. Ducey said Arizona also is building strong relationships with many other countries like China, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, and Taiwan, and welcoming many new companies into the state like Taiwan Semiconductor, Amazon, Red Bull, NXP Semiconductors, Zoom, Electrica Mecanica, Align Technology, among others. The state also has opened three new trade offices in Chihuahua and Guanajuato, Mexico, and Tel Aviv, Israel, which assists with business expansion in healthcare, aerospace, defense, automotive and other sectors.

Since 2006, the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations has hosted Arizona's premier foreign relations event with distinguished guests including global diplomats, governors and U.S. Senators like John McCain, this year held both virtually and in-person. Former U.S. Senator from Arizona Jon Kyl joined Ducey after his remarks for a “fireside chat” of issues. Click here to view presentation in its entirety.
